About

We Fund Fun!

The Fabra Elementary PTO is run by an elected board of parents who volunteer their time all year for our students, teachers, and families. Our mission is simple: we fund fun. The money we raise pays for the extracurricular activities and enrichment programs that make a Fabra education more than what happens at a desk.

Every dollar raised at our fundraisers, events, and through family donations goes back into the school. That funding supports things like:

Beyond fundraising, the board plans events, coordinates volunteers, and connects families with the school administration so parents have a voice and teachers have a partner.

Every family is part of the PTO. You can volunteer an hour at an event, join a committee, or donate to a fundraiser. However you get involved, you help give every Fabra student the chance to learn, grow, and have fun doing it.

President
PTO has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It was an opportunity for me to be actively involved in the lives of my kids as well as making their school experiences as memorable and fun as possible. For me, it’s not task focused but more so relationship building. I’ve had the honor of working with talented and selfless moms and dads, teachers who give far more than they receive, and district employees willing to push for change and enhancement. At the end of the day, it’s about the kids. Their smiles are the reward. I am blessed with ten children and I recognize that a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t work, so we try to create and introduce new events and promotions while still holding true to the traditions that make Fabra so special. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your PTO President.

Treasurer
I grew up in a small town in west Texas. I married a Boerne area local over 25 years ago. We have 3 kids: 8th, 7th, and 3rd grade. This is my 5th year on the PTO board. This is our 7th year at Fabra. I enjoy helping make Fabra special for our kids.
LA
Secretary
This is my second year with the Fabra Elementary School PTO, and I’m honored to serve as Secretary. I’m also the proud mom of a fifth grader. Fabra is such a special place that truly feels like family. The faculty and staff are wonderful, and I love being involved with our school, teachers, and community. I joined the PTO because I want to help create the kind of fun, meaningful memories for our children that they’ll carry with them long after they leave Fabra. FUN FACTS ABOUT ME: I lived in Mexico for five years, so I love any opportunity to practice my Spanish! I’ve also taken numerous culinary courses and still burn just about everything I cook

Hi! I’m Stephanie, a Fabra mom of two! We joined the Fabra community three years ago and quickly fell in love with the people, the school spirit, and all the fun events that make Fabra so special.

In our second year, I was asked to help with the PTO for “two months tops.” I thought, Sure, I can do two months! Fast forward… and somehow I’m a full-time board member. 😂

I love helping keep families informed, involved, and connected—and making sure everyone gets to be part of the fun that makes Fabra such a great community!

Fundraising
I’m excited to be serving my second year on the Fabra PTO Board as Head of Fundraising! I joined the PTO because I wanted to be part of creating fun experiences, lasting memories, and special traditions for our Falcons. I was born and raised in San Diego and moved to Boerne six years ago to be closer to my husband’s family. When I’m not volunteering with PTO, you can usually find me at home enjoying our little mini farm, which is home to 7 chickens, 5 goats, our mini donkey and sweet basset hound. I’m so grateful to be part of the Fabra community and love finding ways to make our school an even more fun place for our kids!

Communications
I joined the Fabra PTO Board because I truly believe community is what makes a school go 'round.' I love showing my kids that volunteering is about more than simply lending a hand. It's about serving a purpose bigger than ourselves, giving back, and making a meaningful difference in our school community. I'm a proud mom of four, with kids in 5th, 4th, 2nd grade and Kindergarten. Fun Fact: I'm a certified 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and even qualified for the World Championships!
RW
Parliamentarian
I’m Rebecca and I’m the parliamentarian. I joined the PTO because I believe our Fabra family is the best- and teachers, admin, support staff AND the Fabra families all play a roll in that! This year, I have a 2nd and 4th grader at Fabra and 6th and 9th Grader at North and BHS! So grateful that all my kids have been apart of the Fabra family! Fun fact: My love language is a fountain poured Diet Coke and eating out- extra bonus if it’s tex-mex!

Matt is a Fabra dad of two. When his family joined Fabra two years ago, they were immediately impressed, and slightly overwhelmed, by the lengths the PTO goes to for its family events. He volunteered to drive the Fall Fest barrel train and somehow ended up on the board. He's still not sure how that happened.

This year, his goal is to make it easy for teachers, parents, and the PTO to work together, keeping everyone informed with as few clicks as possible. His personal mission is for the board to spend less time wrestling with web tools and more time driving the barrel train.

Rachel Watson is a devoted mom of 2, she’s excited to bring her energy and heart for community to the PTO this year. She also helps manage their family’s real estate portfolio while staying active in the children’s ministry work at church. Rachel loves finding ways to support her kids’ school experience and looks forward to getting to know more families in the community.

Hi, I’m Rachel Haney! This is our second year at Fabra Elementary, and I’m excited to be part of the PTO this year. I have two kiddos at Fabra—one in Pre-K and one in 2nd Grade. This year, I’m serving on the PTO board as the person in charge of Spirit Wear design and sales, which has been such a fun way to combine creativity with supporting our school community. I joined PTO because I wanted to connect with other parents who are passionate about being actively involved and making a difference for our students, teachers, and school. I’m excited to help raise money and make things possible for our Fabra families. Fun fact: I absolutely love baking cupcakes! I’m even considering getting a home baking license and turning my love of cupcakes into a little side business. 🧁
